Deleting your account and your data

v1.0.02026-08-18Draft

Document under review. This is not the version in force yet and should not be considered final.

Two ways, both of them real

You can delete your DOPPLOS account from inside the app, in Settings → Account → Delete account. You do not need to write to anyone and you do not need a reason.

If you cannot reach the app (you lost the phone, you already uninstalled it, or you never want to install it again), write to legal@dopplos.com from the email address of the account, with the subject Delete my account. This page exists so that route is available without installing anything, as Google Play requires.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and your login credentials.
  • Your profile: name, date of birth, gender, orientation, biography, location and search radius.
  • Your photos, both the ones you uploaded and the avatar illustrations generated from them.
  • Your avatar: its description, tone, interests and custom prompt.
  • Your matches and the conversations your avatar held, including the ones held with other people’s avatars.
  • Your connected social accounts and their tokens.

What we keep, and for how long

Some data survives deletion because the law requires it, not because we want it:

What Why How long
Invoices and payment records Tax and accounting law 6 years
Records of reported abuse To keep a banned person from returning, and to answer authorities Up to 3 years
Server logs Security and fraud prevention 12 months

These records are separated from your profile and are not used to build any profile of you.

How long it takes

Deletion starts immediately and completes within 30 days. During that window the account is already inaccessible to you and invisible to other people; the delay is only the time our systems need to remove the data from backups.

If you have an active subscription

Deleting the account cancels the subscription. If you paid on the web, see Purchase Terms for the refund rules. If you paid through an app store, the refund is handled by that store.
