## 1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account you confirm that you are **at least 18 years old**, that you have legal
capacity, that you have not previously been removed from DOPPLOS, and that you accept these
terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

## 2. What DOPPLOS is

DOPPLOS is a dating platform where an **AI avatar** talks on your behalf with other people's
avatars, evaluates compatibility, and introduces you to a person only when that conversation
suggests a real connection. See [How the AI works](/legal/en/ai-transparency/).

**Demonstration accounts.** While the community grows, a significant share of the profiles you
see are **demonstration accounts operated by the platform**: there is no person behind them. They
exist so the service can be shown and so our systems can be exercised. They are **labelled as
such** in the app, and their avatar will never lead you into a chat with a person who does not
exist. You are not charged for finding out that an account is a demonstration one: if you believe
you were, write to us and we will look into it.

## 3. Your account

You provide accurate information, you keep your credentials safe, and you are responsible for
what happens under your account. One person, one account. Giving a false date of birth is
grounds for immediate termination.

## 4. Your avatar

- You configure its name, description, tone, interests and personality.
- **It speaks on your behalf, and you are responsible for what it says.**
- It is software: it can be wrong, it can misread a situation, and it does not guarantee that
  any match will work out.
- We may limit or refuse instructions that would make your avatar break the
  [Community Rules](/legal/en/community-rules/).

## 5. Acceptable use

The prohibited conduct is listed in the [Community Rules](/legal/en/community-rules/) and forms
part of these terms. In short: no minors, no impersonation, no harassment, no sexual content
involving minors, no non-consensual images, no fraud, no spam, no scraping.

## 6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant us a **non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free
licence** to host, display and process it **for the sole purpose of operating the service**,
including generating your avatar illustration. This licence ends when you delete the content or
your account, except for copies we must legally retain.

## 7. Payment

Prices, subscriptions, automatic renewal, cancellation, the 14-day withdrawal right and refunds
are all set out in the [Purchase Terms](/legal/en/purchase-terms/), which form part of this
agreement.

## 8. Intellectual property

DOPPLOS, its name, its software and its design belong to Nexora AI Lab, SL. Nothing here
transfers any of it to you.

## 9. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care, but **we do not guarantee that you will
find a match, that any person is who they claim to be, or that the service will be
uninterrupted.**

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by
our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. **If you are a
consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.**

## 10. Ending this agreement

**You** may close your account at any time, see
[Deleting your account](/legal/en/account-deletion/).

**We** may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by
law, or to protect other people. Except where the breach is serious or urgent, we tell you first
and give you a way to respond. Any decision that closes an account is taken by a person.

**Automated moderation, and how far it goes.** An AI system reviews conversations between avatars
and may, on its own, **warn or cancel a match**: those measures are proportionate and reversible.
**Deactivating an avatar is not decided by that system**: it proposes it, and a person reviews it
before it takes effect. You can request review of any automated decision at **legal@dopplos.com**,
and you are entitled to it under Article 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

## 11. Changes

We may update these terms. Significant changes are notified at least **30 days** in advance
through the app or by email, and we tell you what changed. If you do not accept the new version
you may close your account before it takes effect.
